PASTOR LILLIAN BAILEY JOHNSON

Pastor Lillian Bailey Johnson was born in Spring Hope, North Carolina to the late David Bailey and Lillian Cooper Bailey. She was the seventh child of eight children. She attended Spaulding School in Spring Hope, NC. When she was in the eighth grade, her family moved to Nashville, North Carolina. There she attended and graduated from Nash Central High School in 1968.

Pastor Johnson graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina in 1972. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major of Textile Chemistry and Education with a minor in Sociology. After graduation from NCCU, God allowed her to go to Fresno, California, where she was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues as the Spirit of the God gave utterances. This magnificent rebirth occurred at Bethesda Apostolic Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop Henry L. Johnson, August 28, 1972.

Being now truly directed by the Holy Spirit, she returned to Raleigh, North Carolina. In obedience, Pastor Johnson became the third member of Praise Temple Apostolic Faith Church, then under the leadership of the late Pastor Marie D. Battle. There she served in many capacities. She was the third member of Praise Temple, church’s first usher, first church secretary, choir member, first Sunday school teacher, first praise and worship leader, kitchen manager, and the first Evangelist sent out from Praise Temple Church. Pastor Johnson cheerfully and willing did anything her Pastor asked her to do. She did it as heartily unto the Lord. Through her zealous ministry, many souls repented of their sins, got baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit. The Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., licensed her as an official Evangelist in 1974.

Pastor Johnson married the late Brother James Henry Johnson, Jr. in December 1978. To this union was born three children, Latecia Christina (now with the Lord), Mark Ramsey and Alvin Jermaine. All three children have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit.

In 1987 God led Pastor Johnson to incorporate The Church of Jesus Christ Inc. at Raleigh, now located at 849 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh, North Carolina. She continued to evangelize and declare salvation in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! She graduated from Aeon Bible College of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in 1988.

Pastor Johnson knows the cautions of working with the secular population. Her employment included kindergarten teacher, special education teacher, tax assessor, accounting clerk, bank teller, property manager, cafeteria cook, mail room worker, nursing assistant, cashier, pharmacist assistant, and house manager.

In her obedience to return to The Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., Pastor Johnson embraced the holy standard that the PCAF organization adheres to. God truly blessed her. She was welcomed with love and received as a pastor in the PCAF by Bishop John T. Leslie Jr.
In Pastor Johnson’s travels throughout the world: Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Greenland, Jamaica, Italy, Belgium, Israel, Portugal, and Iceland; she learned, there is a favour of God that rest upon obedience to be where God wants you to be and do what God wants you to do, regardless of what other people might think.

Pastor Johnson’s many talents and hobbies include cooking, sewing, decorating, horseback riding, and writing poetry.

Loving where God has placed her, Pastor Johnson’s passion is labouring to see the manifested deliverance by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, teaching spiritual warfare and declaring the Word of God especially to make it applicable to daily living.
